چکیده مقاله
This aim of this study is to investigate the significant impact of target cultural-based activities in front of localized cultural-based activities on motivation in foreign language learning. This article includes quantitative information. It involved 30 intermediate male students between 17 and 18 years old from Iran. These students were randomly separated into two groups: 15 students engaged in target cultural-based activities such as conversations and role-play and the cultural activities was about Christmas. The other 15 students participated in localized cultural-based activities and the localized cultural activities was about Nowruz. English language used as foreign language. The result of this treatment measured by questionnaire. The outcome of this study showed that, students who engaged in target cultural-based activities, had higher levels of motivation in learning English as a foreign language. The findings of this study can influence curriculum development and teaching plans. The exploration of this article is useful for curriculum developers, teachers and educators.
