ABSTRACT Textbook evaluation includes assessing the quality of educational learning materials used in the classroom. This study aims to investigate the perspectives of 55 Iranian EFL students and 10 English teachers towards Prospect series. This study used a quantitative method in which the data were obtained through two questionnaires. The technique for collecting data in this study is a primary study in which the data were analyzed descriptively using SPSS 24. According to the descriptive statistics analysis, authenticity was perceived as the lowest variable and the availability was highlighted as the highest one by the students. In addition, this study reports that the appearance was rated as the highest factor and the authenticity was pointed out as the lowest. The study’s outcomes demonstrate the significance of a comprehensive evaluation of the textbooks, acknowledging both perspectives of teachers and students. This research would be a useful insight for teachers and textbook developers, opening horizons for further studies. |
