چکیده مقاله
Teachers’ professional development (TPD) has attracted a lot of attention in the area of teacher education. Effective professional development goes beyond mere participation in workshops or seminars, which necessitates personalized, sustained, and evidence-based approaches that align with both individual teacher needs and broader educational objectives. Thus, empowering teachers through ongoing support and resources not only fortifies their skills but also imbues them with the confidence to innovate and adapt to evolving educational paradigms. However, the sources of professional development and different ways to make it happen positively have been a challenging issue, which has resulted in conducting a vast number of studies. Due to the vagueness of the resources related to TPD, the present review study aimed to review the studies related to professional development in order to gather all models together. After analyzing 80 studies, 71 resources of improving professional development presented by 12 different scholars were selected for review. The results revealed that sources of professional development have a great effect on launching teacher's professional development programs. Thus, it is suggested that more research is needed to show how to implement these resources for empowering teachers’ professional knowledge in Farhangian University.
