The Influence of Online Instruction of Vocabulary Learning Strategies on Iranian EFL Elementary Learners’ Vocabulary Knowledge across Intuitive-Sensing Personality Types

چکیده مقاله
This study tried to explore the effect of online instruction of vocabulary learning strategies on Iranian EFL elementary learners’ vocabulary knowledge across intuitive-sensing personality types. To do this, 70 elementary-level learners were selected from language institutes in Shiraz city. Considering personality questionnaire results, they were divided into two intuitive and sensing experimental and control groups. They took part in vocabulary pre and post-tests. During the instruction the experimental group received online vocabulary training through the social media of Rubica while, the control group trained based on the traditional and conventional approaches. The t-test of two independent groups and paired sample t-test were used to analyze the data. The results indicated that online instruction of vocabulary learning strategies has a positive and significant influence on Iranian EFL elementary learners’ vocabulary knowledge in both control and experimental groups. In addition, based on the results, there was no significant difference between the vocabulary learning of both sensing and intuitive EFL learners who were provided with online instruction. The outcomes of the study have implications for EFL instructors, curriculum designers, EFL learners, and EFL researchers. EFL learners can apply online instruction in their language classes and pay specific attention to the significant role of vocabulary learning strategies in vocabulary learning. They also should consider their learners’ personality types while instruction. Thorough using online instruction EFL learners are aided to learn their language especially vocabulary more desirable in a stress-free situation. They also will be familiar with their personality traits and personalized learning strategies
