The current research aimed to identify the challenges and solutions for the development of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in English language teachers. This research was conducted through a descriptive-analytical approach. It involved the use of documents and library sources to identify the challenges and solutions for TPACK development in English language Teaching (ELT). The data was extracted from documents, materials, texts, specialized libraries, and internet sources. No time constraints were applied for searching and gathering information from databases to ensure the comprehensiveness of the research. Data analysis was carried out using a descriptive manner, reflecting on different approaches, types of studies, and their classification. The results indicated that TPACK development in English language teaching faces challenges such as lack of a practical approach to the English language, lack of cultural background, inability to use new and modern teaching methods, ineffective texts and materials, and implausible evaluation approaches in the English language curriculum. Adopting approaches such as making English language culture tangible, moving beyond the GTM method, and utilizing modern technologies in teaching and assessing enables teachers to effectively prepare students for the challenges and opportunities aligned with the rapid advancement of technology. Investing in the development of TPACK among English teachers is essential for cultivating a generation of scientifically literate individuals who can navigate and participate in a technology-influenced world. |
